R. Peter Straus ’44 Distinguished Lecture Series
Leaders in the media are invited to SOM to discuss issues related to the
press and public responsibility in the R. Peter Straus ’44 Distinguished lecture series. The series is made possible by the R. Peter Straus Endowed Fund, established in 1987 by Eric Straus ’81 BA and Jeanne Straus Tofel with husband Richard J. Tofel, in honor of their father, R. Peter Straus ’44.
The Gordon Grand Fellowship
The Gordon Grand Fellowship at Yale promotes dialogue and understanding between
today’s business leaders and students at Yale. The fellowship was
established in 1973 to honor Gordon Grand, a graduate of the Yale College Class
of 1938, and president and CEO of the Olin Corporation. During his lifetime,
Grand endeavored to bridge the gap between business and academia by actively
promoting the exchange of ideas and viewpoints between these sectors. Today,
the Gordon Grand Fellowship continues this tradition by inviting prominent
business leaders to Yale for one- to three-day visits.
